MOUND RIDGE, KS
Located along the bustling Interstate 135 corridor, Moundridge is home to several industries that are expanding or looking to expand. The city also serves as a “commuter” town with households often commuting out of the city for employment throughout the county and nearby Wichita.
Housing has been a challenge for the community, so the City contacted Prairie Fire to help. Prairie Fire developed 30 units of affordable housing and 12 units of market rate housing. The project consists of two and three bedroom units rented to families.
Total Development Cost – $6.5 million
- Objective – Address the need for workforce housing, economic development and expansion
- Financing – $4.7 million LIHTC, RHID, MIH, Conventional Debt
- Investor/Lender – Aegon, Intrust Bank N.A.
